  • Lilia joined the program through a Doctoral Scholarship from the Open Society Foundations and earned her PhD in 2018. In her dissertation, “Indeterminate Waiting: Social Experiences, Politics, and Visualizations,” she employed an interdisciplinary approach and qualitative research methods to examine experiences of temporal uncertainty during salient life events, as well as the role of modern institutions in shaping these experiences.

    Lilia presented her research at conferences: City University of New York, New School for Social Research (NYC), Eastern Sociological Society (Baltimore), and Open Society Foundations (NYC).

    Her current research and teaching interests focus on themes of uncertainty, temporality, migration, social inequalities, science and organizational communication, as well as creative, visual, and participatory methods. Organizational evaluation and monitoring also constitute an important part of her professional activities and interests.
