Liz’s main areas of interest are cognitive sociology, classification, and culture. Her work explores the social construction of knowledge, how individuals and collectives make sense of dissonant realities, the intersection of culture and social networks research, and the transmission of values in small groups. She received her B.A. in Sociology with Honors from Pepperdine University and her M.A. in Sociology from Rutgers University.
