  • Juliana’s main research interest is the relationship between Gender Theories and Criminology, but she is also interested in Crime and Social Control, Theories of Deviance, Sociology of Knowledge, and Cognitive Sociology. She received her B.A. in Law and her M.A in Law, with an emphasis in Law, Power and Control, both from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR, Brazil). Her master thesis was a study on the criminalization of feminicide in Brazil and the theoretical conflicts between critical criminology and feminist movements. She also has published works on female incarceration for drug trafficking in Brazil.
