  • Tali (Hamutal) Jaffe-Dax is a doctoral candidate at the department of Sociology, Rutgers University. Her main areas of interest are cultural sociology and cognitive sociology. Her work focuses on social patterns of perception, attention, and classification, and based on “trigger-interview” methodology. In her Master thesis (Hebrew University of Jerusalem), she studied the spatial perceptions of Al-Quds/Jerusalem, using locals' sketch-maps and mental maps. In her dissertation project, she takes a formal sociological approach to study status downplay performances.
